This policy explains how TANK Exterior Cleaning (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects your personal information, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

The information we collect

• Your name, email address, phone number and property address
• Photos of the surfaces you’d like cleaned, and anything you tell us in your message
• For commercial enquiries: your company name, sector and number of sites
• Basic technical information (approximate location, device/browser type and pages visited) from our website analytics

How and why we use it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare your quote, arrange and carry out the work, keep records of jobs and payments, and improve our website and service. Our legal bases are taking steps to enter into and perform a contract with you, and our legitimate interests in running and marketing our business. We never sell your personal information.

If you opt in, we may send occasional reminders when a service is due. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any message or emailing admin@tankexteriorcleaning.co.uk.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run our website and contact you. They only process your data on our instructions:

• Resend — delivers the enquiry emails from our forms
• Google — powers the address look-up on our contact form (Google Maps / Places)
• Elfsight — displays our genuine Google reviews on the Reviews page
• Vercel — hosts our website and provides privacy-friendly analytics
• Microsoft Clarity — provides anonymised website analytics (heatmaps and session recordings) to help us improve the site

Some providers are based outside the UK (for example, in the USA). Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent.

Advertising and conversion measurement

We advertise through Google Ads. When you arrive at our website from one of our ads and then contact us — by submitting a form, clicking to call, clicking our email address, or opening WhatsApp — we record that this happened so we can understand which of our adverts lead to enquiries. This uses cookies set by Google.

We may also use Google’s enhanced conversions feature. Where you have submitted your details through a form on this site, information such as your name, email address and phone number is converted into a secure, irreversible code (a hash) on your device before being sent to Google. Google uses this only to match the enquiry to an advert click. We do not send Google your details in a readable form, and this data is not used to build a profile of you or to target you with further advertising.

You can control advertising cookies through your browser settings, and through Google’s own ads settings at adssettings.google.com.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and customer information for as long as needed to respond and provide our services, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records and to meet legal and accounting obligations (financial records are generally kept for up to six years).

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the data we hold about you; to have inaccurate data corrected or your data erased; to object to or restrict our use of it; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email alex@tankexteriorcleaning.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
